For the chicken:

  • 1 pound boneless, skinless chicken breast, cut into small pieces
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper

For the wraps and sauce:

  • 8 large butter lettuce or romaine leaves
  • 1/2 cup diced cucumber
  • 1/2 cup halved cherry tomatoes
  • 1/4 cup thinly sliced red onion
  • 1/4 cup crumbled feta, optional
  • 1/3 cup tzatziki
  • 1 tablespoon chopped parsley or dill

Instructions

  • 1)

Make sure to carefully follow each step of the instructions for the best results :

    • Season the chicken:
Toss the chicken with olive oil, lemon juice, oregano, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper. Lemon and oregano are a common flavor base in Greek-style chicken lettuce wraps and give the chicken a bright, savory finish.

    • Cook the chicken:
Heat a skillet over medium-high heat and cook the chicken for about 6 to 8 minutes, stirring occasionally, until fully cooked and lightly golden. Several versions use small chicken pieces or diced cooked chicken to keep the wraps fast and easy.

    • Prep the lettuce and toppings:
Wash and dry the lettuce leaves well, then arrange them on a platter or plates. Fill each leaf with cucumber, tomatoes, red onion, and a little feta if using. Butter lettuce, Bibb, and romaine are all commonly used for this type of wrap.

    • Assemble the wraps:
Top each lettuce leaf with the warm chicken and a spoonful of tzatziki. Finish with parsley or dill for extra freshness. Tzatziki is one of the most common sauces paired with Greek chicken lettuce wraps.

    • Serve immediately:
Serve the wraps right away while the chicken is still warm and the lettuce is crisp. These are best assembled just before eating so the leaves stay fresh and crunchy.
